Celebrating 20 years of Service to the Bonner County Community

Angels Over Sandpoint begins their 20th year of service. Over two decades the group raised and contributed over $1.4 million to the Bonner County community in the form of aid, scholarships and other programs. The group now has 65 volunteer members with others from the community pitching in when needed. Their goal is to help those in need and other organizations in Sandpoint that do the same. Angels are known for slightly naughty events such as the Follies at the Panada to a sophisticated High Tea known for outlandish hats and much more. A major goal of Angels Over Sandpoint is to create an endowment to insure that their work will continue. Attracting new members to help with over 10 yearly fund raising activities and then fun part, distributing the funds through scholarships, direct aid and grants continues as a priority for the Angels older members.
Angel Rocks

Members painted rocks with the group's Angel design and distributed them throughout the community. Locations include hiking trails, Spot benches, Senior Citizens grounds, City Beach, bike paths and many more. Please take one home to remember this organization.

Lazy A.08k at Mickduff's Beerhall

Members of Angels Over Sandpoint like to have fun while raising money for the Bonner County community. If you want to have fun too, join us for our 1st Lazy A .08K and to hear music by Miah Kohal Band at Mickduff's Beerhall Saturday, August 24, 2019. Registration starts at 11am, followed by some beer drinking and then we will get around to the start of the race! Most important, the music also starts at 11 am.

The Race Details!
The race will start at MickDuff's Beer Hall on Cedar. Participants will get a free pint of beer before the start of the race. Make sure to get there on time, so you have time to hydrate! The race will then proceed across the parking lot, AND BACK! Does .08K sound too far for you? Don't worry, the course isn't really that long.

We'll finish at the beer hall in the lawn where you can celebrate your victory and have your finisher pictures taken! If this is still sounding a little overwhelming for you, don't fret! You can purchase the VIP package, and you don't have to run at all! You special folks will be driven to the halfway point and then be driven back. You'll get VIP treatment, and you even get a free celebration beer at the finish line! All of your friends will be very jealous.

General entry is $25.
This includes a t-shirt, pre-race beer, and your goodie bag!

VIP entry will be $50.
It is for those big spenders that love giving back to their community. This includes a t-shirt, pre-race, and post-race beer, the exclusive VIP treatment, and your VIP goodie bag!

Register by July 20, 2019 for T-shirts!
If you want a t-shirt on race day, you must register by July 20, 2019. Registrations after that date will not be guaranteed a t-shirt. Please let us know your size in advance. You'll be able to join all the other runners and add your pretentious oval .08K sticker to your car. It doesn't matter if you're first, last or get driven the whole way! Carb-loading and hydration station will be available at the halfway point. Got to make sure you're replenishing your body when you're working that hard.

Because this is a fundraiser, we want you to stick around as long as possible! During the race the Miah Kohal Band will be performing. Jupiter Jane Traveling Cafe will be on site to provide food and we will have games set up along the course for you to play!

Angels Over Sandpoint & Ivano’s Ristorante Presented The Italian OPEN Charity Golf Scramble @ StoneRidge Golf Course!

We are returning to StoneRidge Golf Course for our 2019 Italian Open Friday, September 6th. Activities start at 11 am at the Shotgun. Proceeds are donated to residents of Bonner County in need. Angels Sunrises Over Sandpoint Calendar Sale

Angels Over Sandpoint published a calendar entitled, Sunrises Over Sandpoint, with photos by local Sandpoint resident and photographer, Kirk Miller. The calendar features 18 months of natural sunrises. The calendar begins with July 2019 and continues for 18 months through December 2020.

Photographer, Kirk Miller, heads out the day at 4:00 am daily to capture photos of the sun as it rises above Lake Pend Oreille. Miller and members of the Angels selected some of his best work! You can purchase calendars for $23.50 online at our Angels Facebook page: Angels Sunrise Calendar. Proceeds from calendar sales will assist residents of Bonner County through Angels Over Sandpoint.

15th year of the Follies!

The 16th annual Follies, benefiting Angels Over Sandpoint was held at the Panida Theater in Sandpoint Idaho. The Follies fundraiser is a politically incorrect, racy, risque variety show.  Proceeds benefit Angels Over Sandpoint and their efforts to help those in need in Bonner County.

Angels and Volunteers from the Community Distributed Backpacks Loaded with School Supplies to Returning and New Students.

Angels Over Sandpoint members and volunteers came together to distribute school supplies and backpacks to a record breaking number of students.

It takes lots of work and volunteers to raise money to purchase school supplies and backpacks. With the help of local retailerss who donate and discount items, Angels are able to serve many more students. Once the backpacks and supplies are gathered an army of volunteers fill the backpacks with the supplies for each class age.

Each Backpack includes Free School Supplies for the appropriate grade level. If you would like to receive free school supplies for your children, call Community Action Partnership (C.A.P.) at 208 255-2910 to register each child by the grade they are entering. Your household qualifies for the Back to School program if any of the following statements below are true:
  1. Your household is elegible for the Free or Reduced Lunch Program.
  2. Your household qualifies for Food Stamps and or Medicaid.
  3. Your household received Energy Assistance within the last 12 months.
  4. Your household income is under $2,455.88 for you and 1 child.
  5. Your household income is under $3,097.21 for a 3 person household.
  6. Your household income is under $3,738.54 for a 4 person household.
  7. Your household income is under $4,379.88 for a 5 person household.

    Giving Students Backpacks for Back to School

    It takes an army of workers from the Angels and other Volunteers to prepare and distribute backpacks to students every fall. Even with all of the hard work Angels enjoy serving students. This year they distributed more than 800 backpacks to children from low income families.

    Decorating Tables is part of the fun at the Angels High Tea. Each table features a theme! The Angels Over Sandpoint Annual High Tea, held May 6th, 2017 at the Ponderay Events Center, provided a delightful afternoon for attendees.

    Angels Had Fun Creating A Christmas Tree for the Kinderhaven Festival Of Trees

    Angel members worked hard to design and create a fantastic Christmas Tree for the Kinderhaven Festival Of Trees Auction.
    The Angels Tree auctioned for $10,000 during the Kinderhaven 2016 Gala. Starting with the Angels In the Kitchen theme, the group handcrafted extraordinary ornaments to decorate the tree. The theme honored the many years the group has prepared tasty food for Angels' events and for those in need. Proceeds from the Festival of Trees benefit Kinderhaven which is dedicated to supporting children in crisis and giving them back their right to thrive by providing a safe, secure home in which their emotional, physical and mental well-being are protected and enriched.
