Fundraising

Angels Over Sandpoint has donated countless volunteer hours giving back to the Bonner County community - everything from hauling boxes of school supplies and unloading backpacks in preparation for our Back to School program in the fall, to interviewing students for our Arts and Community Service Scholarships.

Our volunteers have donated their time for activities such as creating holiday decorations for our annual Kinderhaven Tree program as well as stacking firewood and dropping off home-cooked meals to those unable to leave their homes in the winter.

All of our efforts require monetary support and much of our time is spent fundraising. Many in Sandpoint have heard of The Follies, our Mardi Gras season fundraiser which has delighted its fans for many years. We continue to sell out the Panida Theater for this raucous variety show. Our annual High Tea and Italian Open Golf Scramble are also terrific fundraising events that offer lots of fun!

We have also sponsored New Year’s Eve Dances and sold Holiday Cards designed with artwork from local Bonner County artists. We have sold cookbooks, held yard sales, and auctioned donated items, BUT we still rely on individual donations from generous folk who appreciate our efforts to help our neighbors.

Follies

Welcome to the Follies, more fun than humans should be allowed! We are in our upmteenth year of presenting some of the best talent Sandpoint and the world has to offer (in our humble opinion). Come early March at the Panida Theater, after months of rehearsal and making costumes and sets, the excitement of the performers is ready to explode in fireworks of laughter and craziness. Be prepared to experience fun like never before (well, at least since last year). If you find that you aren’t laughing, you’re probably in the wrong place!

The money raised from the Follies provides the necessary funding to carry out our mission of helping those in need in our community. We need your help to continue making a difference, and the Follies is one of our primary vehicles to raise the money. We can’t do it without you. Even the Follies performers and volunteers pay for their own tickets to help out.

Another important part of the Angels Over Sandpoint mission is to provide events that bring people together to celebrate life—and what is more full of life than the fabulous Follies?! It’s time to come out of hibernation, help others, and party! Remember, this is a slightly “naughty” comedy show with continuous laughs, so you might have to buy the DVD to be sure to catch everything you missed the first time through.

Here’s to celebrating Follies 2015! It’s going to be a show to end all shows. Enjoy your evening and remember, please don’t drink and drive; ask for a cab coupon at the door if you need it. We want you to come back next year and bring all your friends!

High Tea

High Tea Party

The first Saturday in May brings you the Angels Over Sandpoint Annual High Tea. We invite you to join us to celebrate the coming of spring and to help those in need in our community. Your “Angel” hostesses will be serving several delightful teas from England that are a perfect accompaniment to our homemade scones with lemon curd and clotted cream, assorted finger sandwiches, and delicate sweets.

Come dressed in your flowery best and your favorite fanciful hat. If you don’t have a hat, please stop by our hat boutique to discover our one-of-a-kind delightful creations that will be sure to tickle your fancy.

Come early and enjoy a mimosa or sparkling cider during our social time as you stroll around our creative tables so beautifully set. There are also many treasures on display for sale or offered at auction with which you will want to get familiar. Our favorite auction item remains the catered at home Tea for 8 to 10 friends that we bring to you!

It’s a lovely afternoon of smiles, fun, etiquette, a hat parade, music, and merriment. Please mark your calendars as seating is limited and tables sell out fast!

Italian Open Golf Scramble

Each September Ivano’s Ristorante and the Angel’s Over Sandpoint host The Italian Open Golf Scramble.  This charity golf event takes place at StoneRidge Golf Resort.  Teams of four golfers register to play in this fun 18 hole scramble which includes lunch, games, and a dinner following play provided by Ivano’s and served on the 19th green!  Sponsors are also encouraged to participate and donations of support are accepted by the Angels.  All proceeds from the day will benefit local high school students through the Lippi Family Scholarship and the Angels Over Sandpoint’s mission to support Bonner County residents in need.

Sandpoint Style

October of 2014 was our first Sandpoint Style fundraiser, which was a rousing success. Guests dressed in their best "Sandpoint style" outfits, enjoyed a fashion show, live entertainment, silent and live auctions, shopping the local artist's wares, delicious food and just having a great time.
